Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions homeowners ask us:

How often should I have my garage door serviced?

We recommend having your garage door professionally serviced at least once a year. Regular maintenance helps prevent unexpected breakdowns, extends the life of your door and opener, and ensures safe operation. If you use your garage door frequently (more than 4 times daily), consider bi-annual maintenance.

How long does a garage door installation take?

A standard garage door installation typically takes 3-5 hours, depending on the complexity of the installation and whether we're replacing an existing door or installing in a new opening. This includes removal of the old door, installation of the new door and opener, programming remotes, and a complete safety check.

What are signs that my garage door springs need replacement?

Common signs include: the door feels unusually heavy when lifting manually, the door doesn't open all the way, you notice visible gaps in the spring coils, the door opens unevenly, or you heard a loud bang from the garage (this often indicates a spring has broken). Never attempt to replace springs yourself as they're under extreme tension.
